Designer doesn't want socialite to wear his clothes
Alexander McQueen, is one of the greatest designers of all time and one of my personal favorites. In addition to him being a fabulous designer I just read about a new reason to love him.…the British fashion designer doesn't want Paris Hilton to ruin the beauty of his creations by wearing them. He told The Independent newspaper that he hopes Paris would keep walking if she came past the shop (he just opened an LA boutique) as he doesn't covet that sort of thing.
Alexander McQueen is not willing to let any Tinseltown starlets wear his clothes. His credo, which he expressed in one of Harper's Bazaar issues last year, is that fashion is not about celebrity. That is why he refuses to associate his label with socialites like Paris Hilton, as he thinks they would give a bad name to his creations.
"I can't get sucked into that celebrity thing because I think it's just crass. I work with people who I admire and respect. It's never because of who they are", he said. "It's not about celebrity; that would show a lack of respect for the work, for everyone working on the shows, because when the pictures come out it's all about who's in the front row. What you see in the work is the person itself. And my heart is in my work", Alexander McQueen told Harper's Bazaar.
