FAMILY ACCUSES BATMAN STAR OF ASSAULT

I hope this story proves to be false.....the NY Post reports...Christian Bale was arrested today in London in relation to an alleged assault over the weekend. The Batman star's mother and sister claim the 34-year-old actor lashed out at them at a hotel Sunday night.

They filed the complaint against Bale yesterday afternoon, but Bale was allowed to attend the premiere for blockbuster film "Batman: The Dark Knight" last night in London.

Today, however, police took Bale into custody for questioning.

A source told UK's The Sun, "It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don't yet know is founded in truth. But Mr. Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of anything that happened."

Drama has plagued the cast and crew of "The Dark Knight." Earlier this year, Heath Ledger, who stars as The Joker, died from an accidental drug overdose. Last year, a special-effects technician was killed during a stunt car accident.
