Merriman who is twenty four has reached the quarterback 39.5 in his career for a sack has chosen to play where his knees are the keys to his success.
Although seeing four different doctors including orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, where all doctors said he needed surgery, he chose to forgo surgery until a later time risking his present and future, saying " The decision was left up to me to play. If you give a football player a decision to play, you know, I'm going to play."
Merriman who is trying to prove his something by playing with the injury is making a mistake. As of right now he is one of the top outside linebackers in the league, if he is to have a done season or not live up the Chargers will be quick to offer his much less because of his production or choose to release all together because of his production.
